Over the past 25 years I have been blessed to work with some of the best Doctors and formulators in the industry. Dr. Seegleman, Dr. Piefpher and Dr. Allen. Unfortunately, I have seen some not so good ones in the industry as well. Having reputable Doctors on the team makes a world of difference for the IBOs and to the success of the Company long term.
As you study long term successful companies, (not just ones with a year or two of growth) you have to be able to trust that the Doctors are there to represent the IBOs, to ensure the products work and that the products have clinical studies to support its function in helping the body heal itself. If their actions are only to build their reputation so they can work on more than one company, or their focus is to be on TV, it usually is only a matter of time before the growth of the company begins to slow.
Also, if the company ends up with its inventory of products that are available in every store in the country or just copying trends in the market place history has shown the company will stop growing at some point. Who pays the price? The IBOs pay the price. This flaw in this business model (MLM) has been proven time and time again and when you think about it, it is only common sense. Some of the best companies in the industry started with products that were proven in a retail type setting then pulled them from retail to offer them in an MLM model. The products most effective in MLM are those who's benefits cannot be shared only on a label. Their story must be told in person!
The most successful companies also have at least one of the doctors on your team trained in medicine and hopefully at least one of them still practicing to keep up on knowledge that becomes available every month through studies. The human body is amazing and without proper medical training your IBOs are paying a price for not having access to modern knowledge. I have seen a few companies pay for a degree so their advisor can call themselves a doctor
If copying trends is the company's business model, think twice about your long term success. What happens when the trends change? Also it is interesting when a company launches several products that are supposed to do the same thing. If "green" works then why do you need three (or more) other products that are going to do the same thing? Think about it? If that product really works why would a formulator introduce many more to do the same exact thing? Experienced formulators have a plan in mind and are innovative, not just always watching other companies or the TV to launch the next product.
