A Brother like That

Many years ago, a small street urchin in search of work, shining shoes, stood outside an office building. As he waited a young, successful business man came out and went towards a brand new car. “Is that your car?” the urchin asked.

“Yes it is” came the reply. “My brother, who is very successful, just gave it to me as a gift.”

“Wow” exclaimed the urchin, “I wish.” And at that moment the business man knew, or thought he knew, what the urchin was going to wish for, that he too had a brother like that. The man was shocked when the urchin finished with, “Wow! I wish I could be a brother like that!”

Impressed with the young man, he asked if he would like to go for a ride. Of course, the urchin said yes and as they were driving down the road. The urchin turned toward the business man and said “Would you mind driving by my house?” And once again the young business man thought, Oh this young boy wants to show off for his friends and show them that he can ride in a fancy new automobile, but as they pulled up to his home the urchin jumped out and said, “Please wait a minute, sir.” A few moments later, he heard slow footsteps coming down the stairs and the urchin was carrying his young brother who was crippled from Polio and then the business man overheard this conversation that changed him forever.

The urchin said to his brother, “There it is buddy, there’s the car, and guess what? His brother bought it for him, and someday I’m going to buy you one just like it so you can see all the wonders that I tell you about as I go through the city!”

The young business man realized once again that he was wrong. He didn’t want to show off to his friends, he just wanted to give his brother hope for the future. He asked if they would both like to go for a ride and he helped the boys get in the car and together they drove around looking at all of the wonders of Christmas as he realized how much better it is to give then to receive, and that we can all become brothers like that.

Team, I sure appreciate each one of you because you are “brothers like that.” As we take up the mission to help other people with hope and happiness, we do fulfill our mission of creating a better life for others and for the generations to follow.

Let’s all go out, throughout this Christmas season and beyond, and share the message of Q Sciences and bring happiness into other people’s lives.

In addition, look for an exciting announcement coming before the end of the year related to automobiles and a debt reduction program!

THE EAGLE This is Amazing...It is no wonder there are scriptural references to the eagle! And, no wonder the bald eagle has such a significant symbolism to our country!!!! When it rains, most birds head for shelter; the eagle is the only bird that, in order to avoid the rain, starts flying above the clouds... An amazing tidbit about the Eagle's eyesight: The eagle can  identify a rabbit moving  a mile away. That means that an eagle flying at an altitude of 1000 feet over open country could spot prey over an area of almost 3 square miles from a fixed position.

No wonder God wants us to spread our wings and soar with eagles

I am proud to announce that Jimmy has reached the prestigious rank of Diamond. This is a real accomplishment. Q President's Kids Club Update

I just wanted to share an update about the Q Sciences President's Kids Club. We have created a wall in the office dedicated to the club and its members.

A couple of weeks ago at the Utah Thanksgiving Point Super Saturday, I had the honor of having my picture taken with Ava, one of the Kids Club members and artist of the "Q" hanging on the wall. Ava, like all the kids in the club, is a very bright, friendly, thoughtful young lady.

 

The Q Sciences President's Kids Club was created to mentor kids if they want to be a part of the future at Q Sciences. Collectively, we will help set the future of good health. Share Some Sunshine!

Q Sciences QD3 is one of four new QSprays we launched in August. I knew a quintessential formula and innovative delivery method of vitamin D was something that the field would love, and frankly, would need. Calm Those Racing Thoughts

I received an email from an IBO and thought it was great to share for two reasons.

Thanks for the note. This Q96 is good for me. It quiets the racing thought. This morning I awoke about 3:30 AM and my mind was just a whirl. I had taken a sleep aid just before going to bed. That usually enables me to get back to sleep. Not this time, so a half hour later I got up and took a Q96 pill and in about 15 minute or less the racing thoughts had stopped and I was able to sleep. With all that you have going, you remembered my birthday! Thanks so much, this milestone 75th was indeed really great. All of our children and most of our grandchildren were there at Mutual Dell. (3 missionaries are out right now)

NEW Studies Published on Q96 & Substance Addiction

EMPowerplus™ Q96 May Help Ease Substance Addiction, New Study Reports

New findings add to growing body of research on micronutrient supplement for brain health

Pleasant Grove, Utah—The micronutrient formula EMPowerplus Q96 may help ease substance addiction, in addition to calming symptoms of depression, ADHD and anxiety, a new study found.  

The research, “Use of micronutrients attenuates cannabis and nicotine abuse as evidenced from a reversal design: a case study,” was published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Psychoactive Drugs (Volume 45, April—June 2013). "As part of a wider investigation of the impact of micronutrients (mostly vitamins and minerals) on psychiatric symptoms, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression, and anxiety, we observed that many participants reduced or eliminated use of alcohol, cigarettes, and cannabis,” the researchers noted in the study abstract.

The study details the results of a reverse on-off study with a 20-year-old male taking EMPowerplus over a span of 15 months. The subject’s cannabis and nicotine use, in addition to depression, ADHD and anxiety symptoms, reduced significantly with regular use of the supplement.

The researchers offer two possible explanations for the findings: “Micronutrients, by assisting with mood regulation and reductions in anxiety, may assist with successful cessation of drug use. Alternatively, they may directly impact the brain reward circuitry believed to be involved in the expression of addictions, thereby providing the appropriate precursors and cofactors necessary for adequate neurotransmitter synthesis.”

A second case study recently published in the Summer 2013 volume of Advances found that EMPowerplus helped reduce ADHD symptoms in a 24-year old female subject. The effectiveness was diminished in the presence of a Candida yeast infection, but returned following treatment, suggesting a connection between brain health and nutrient absorption.

Both studies add to the growing body of research on EMPowerplus Q96, which now includes 22 published studies conducted by researchers worldwide.

Last week the Q was buzzing with extra activity as Jimmy was in town. As I walked down the hall, I saw three of our founding IBOs setting strategy for the coming weeks. Smiles all around... afterall, Q Sciences is the Science of Happiness!

Report from Alberta

I recently wrote this post with stories from IBOs about the impact the recent flooding in Alberta was having on household pets. The post included pictures of a QPets painting I received from IBO Sandy Gauthier that her daughter Skylar painted. The portrait hangs in my office still and every time I see it I am reminded of the quality of people we have sharing Q Sciences products and our philosophy of Purify, Optimize, and Protect. Sandy sent me an update today and I wanted to share some of the experiences she and her loved ones are having.

"I just wanted to say Thank you so much. I received my signed bottle and note today. Put tears in my eyes. I will proudly display it for all my family and friends to see. Thank you again for helping Rourke, he is doing so well. Starting to really like the camera. I have quite a list of people who have started their pets on QPets and starting to get some good feedback. My sister Karen has definitely noticed a difference since taking Qssentials. My cousin is starting to feel better also on Q96. I'm going to Meow on Thursday. Looking forward to hearing what they have to say. I'm doing my best as I do work a lot but have no doubt that Q everything works. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet you all and be apart of Q.

Poor Grades for ADHD Medications

I came across THIS very informative article on the correlation between medications used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and classroom grades. Take a moment to read the article as it contains findings from the National Bureau of Economic Research, the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, and Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Michigan.

Q Sciences Donates to the Cause: Why Talk When Instead You Can Do!

Canada is experiencing possibly the worst natural disaster in its history as flooding caused by a slow moving storm continues to fill the streets. Our thoughts and prayers are with those dealing with this terrible tragedy. Q Sciences has donated product to flood victims and is also matching any donations made by IBOs, product for product. Below is a letter I received from an IBO.

"I was so happy to see that Q Sciences is offering help for flood victims. Thank you. The flood took place in the province of Alberta in the Southern Region and Canmore was one of the communities hit along with Bragg Creek, Calgary, High River and two First Nations SikSika and Morley. High River is really serious with no power since the flood and very limited food. The situation is so bad that the whole town has been evacuated and are not allowed to return. Houses are under water and will not be saved. No insurance for ground water is available in Canada so most who have lost homes, have lost everything. This is the worst natural disaster, I believe, Canada has ever seen. Most families effected are still in shock to what this all means. The city of Calgary scrambles to clean up for the world famous Stampede scheduled for next week, as they realize it will take years to repair all the damage. The stadium was under water to the 14th row of seats.

"The City of Calgary has a lot more services and relief workers compared to the smaller municipalities like High River, Bragg Creek, SikSika, Canmore and Morley. Calgary is Canada's third-largest, Alberta's largest city, population, and area, and was Alberta's first city incorporated on January 1, 1894.

"I thought just in case you are making any press announcements regarding your support you may want to have more info regarding the geography of this disaster.

"Here is a good map of Southern Alberta. The bottom of Alberta is met by the Montana Boarder.

Another Amazing Personal Story!

This is my life story. It’s true and it happened to me.

I’ve gone through a lot in my life: my real dad leaving my mom when I was two; losing my mom when I was three; five families raising me–all of which gave me up time to time; feeling like I was not wanted, loved or connected; wife of family saying, “Either me or the kids”; fear of death. The veil was thin many times, and I felt and saw many spirits around me. Eleven years ago, I went to the other side—the Spirit World—and saw my mom and loved ones, other people and beauty there. Then six years later, my mom came to me again, and finally told me where all of her things were that people had hid from me in my life. I felt like something was always looming over me or chasing me. I was working hard, thinking it would all go away.

I feel all of this had a great part in me crashing two and a half years ago. I came apart and crashed, fell deep in despair, and felt like I was losing my mind. No energy, depressed, felt unstable, very sick, could hardly stand. I felt I was NOT in my body. I wanted to hide or be in the bathroom or bedroom staring through the windows, my only safe place in the house. I was telling people, “I’m dying, I’m dying” and was planning to pass away, but pleading to the Lord to live. I exhausted counseling, and others said I’d probably never be normal. Tests indicated I was healthy. I was on Lithium and four other drugs, and was told I’d be on them for the rest of my life. I got to the point where I didn’t want to live anymore, but kept going, praying and praying, begging and pleading for help to the Lord.

I’ll never forget that one day I quietly went into my bedroom and took my 38 pistol and put it into my coat and walked out the front door. I walked down our road with the gun in my hand, pointed to the ground, yelling, “I’m killing myself, I’m killing myself.” I walked across the street and went behind a haystack, then lifted the gun and pointed it to my head twice with my hand on the trigger, tempting to kill me. I fell down, and lying on the ground, I shot up once in the air crying for God’s help: “Please help me, please help me.” After 2 hours lying there, the sun started to go down. Then I got to the point where I felt I would try to go back home. My family was worried. They didn’t know where I was.

Three days later, Esther called Tony Stephan and told him what was going on. I’ll never forget Tony and Barb. They got in their truck and came down. He put a regimen on paper of EMPowerplus and some calcium and fish oil. I started taking it and could feel a little something, a difference, like it was helping me. I felt like I was starting to come back some, little by little.

Everyday I felt better, and there was hope in my life. I was coming back. My nerves weren’t as bad. I was able to get up and work more. My depression was lifting. I felt more and more in my body and mind. I could walk with peace. My love of life was coming back.

Thanks Truehope, and thanks Q Sciences. Thanks for all the help. I want to share with everyone what Truehope and Q Sciences have done for me, and now my family. Thanks, God, for your help and for sending Tony to help me.

Please just take it and feel better, and help your family and friends. It has now been 10 months since I have been off all my meds and I’m doing great.
