Share Some Sunshine!

Q Sciences QD3 is one of four new QSprays we launched in August. I knew a quintessential formula and innovative delivery method of vitamin D was something that the field would love, and frankly, would need. Vitamin D3 is often referred to as the "sunshine vitamin" yet it is not an actual vitamin but a hormone produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight. Over the last 25 years or so, we have been told not to go in the sun without sunscreen or hats and clothing to keep our skin protected. The possibility of skin cancer has significantly lowered the amount of vitamin D3 being produced by our bodies, resulting in an overwhelming majority of the world's population becoming vitamin D3 deficient.

When we decided to formulate QD3, the Q Sciences Advisory Board knew about the deficiency epidemic and didn't want to just create a "band wagon" product. QD3 still contains the unique formulation and correct dosage of nutrients to be effective. Using the spray technology as the delivery method was chosen as we understood the importance and the need to get vitamin D3 back into the body as quickly as possible. The spray technology allows rapid absorption of this essential nutrient, and can deliver a safe dose of 5000 IU of pharmaceutical grade vitamin D3 per serving. Q Sciences QD3 formula provides the highest quality of ingredients and the most effective delivery method for vitamin D.

There has been a recent profusion of news and publications focusing on the importance of vitamin D and the discovery that the average person requires a supplement form of the vitamin for our bodies to produce the adequate amount. The health benefits of maintaining adequate levels of vitamin D3 are several as it supports and regulates almost every critical function of the body. For the same reason, a vitamin D3 deficiency is extremely dangerous and yet, when Q Sciences launched its QD3 spray, there was a reported 77% of Americans who were vitamin D3 deficient. The deficiency is now recognized as an epidemic in the U.S. and one that is spreading across the globe.

I came across a slideshow on the HealthCentral® website entitled 8 Facts About Vitamin D and Rheumatoid Arthritis, that I hope each of you will view and share with others. The presentation states the following 8 facts about vitamin D:

1. A study has linked vitamin D deficiency with an increased risk for cancer and autoimmune diseases
2. 1 billion people are vitamin D deficient
3. Medications can affect vitamin D absorption
4. A blood test can determine your vitamin D level
5. You can add vitamin D by changing your diet
6. 15 minutes of sun exposure can make a difference
7. Vitamin D can lift moods and strengthen bones
8. Vitamin D can help you manage chronic pain

I encourage you to read the complete presentation here and share it with others.

I am also excited to announce that the first preliminary study has been done on QD3 and you can view a summary of the results here.

As we officially say good bye to summer and head into winter, most of us will say good bye to sunshine for a few months. Be sure to get enough vitamin D3 for you and your family each month to stay healthy and be your best, most vibrant self.
